The Ubbink pond substrate is an ideal, highly nutritious growing substrate that will give your oxygenating plants a natural jump start in ponds with a good water quality, i.e. free of algae and with a high enough carbon dioxide content. The growing substrate has the porous structure that stimulates the growth of the nitrifying bacteria that are necessary for supplying oxygenating plants with nutrients and carbon dioxide (CO2) to stimulate their growth and increase their production of oxygen. Always use a large enough planting basket!
